Over the past 7 years the San Antonio Junior Golf Foundation have  been trying to educate the community, the economically disadvantage youth, minorities,  and youth with disabilities, on how golf can make a difference in their life.  Since the program has started, we have introduced the game of golf to over 800 kids, given them the opportunity to learn the grow through the game of golf.   We have helped one young lady get a full golf scholarship to Texas A & M University at College Station.  The San Antonio Junior Golf Foundation is in the process of starting  a College Scholarship Funding Program for young Jr golfers and open a after school program, The San Antonio Junior Golf Learning Academy, the home of the Thunder Kats.   The San Antonio Jr Golf Learning Academy would offer kids in the community the opportunity to learn Principles of Entrepreneurship, Culinary Cooking, Computer Repair, Golf Club Repair, Caddie training, after school tutoring and a summer program.  Our kids’ futures are much too important to allow this program to die on the shelf of good ideas and great intentions.

The purpose of the SAJGF is to help educate the community, the economically disadvantage youth, minorities, and youth with disabilities, on how golf can make a difference in their life.   SAJGF provides access to golf courses, golf equipment, scholarships, continuing education, and the opportunity to learn and grow through the game of golf.

We in vision the SAJGF to be a source for continuing education, mentoring, and source scholarships for college.  In the Summer of 2004, SAJGF incorporate the Start Something Program in with the golf program.   We also in vision operating from our own facility within the community, which would provide access for all junior golfers, teaching, practice, and play, as well as serve as permanent headquarters for our staff.

The mission of the SAJGF is to build a drug free, golf program that provides and promotes, good sportsmanship, independence, positive self esteem for all youth in the community.  The SAJGF plans on providing the economically disadvantage youth, minorities, and youth with disabilities, the facility and equipment needed to learn how to play the game of golf.   We also plan on teaching the kids how to set goals and dream.  You can do anything if you put your mind and heart into it.   With this environment, we preserve the traditions and integrity of the game of golf.
